  1. Mechant campaign for Perfect General 2 game by QQP 1 of 2
  2.  
  3. This file is included with the Mechant campaign by Fraglia. It is
  4. included merely for your entertainment and enjoyable reference,
  5. don't fell you need to read any of this to get through the campaign:
  6.  
  7. The ULA stands for the United Liberty Alliance, a band of allies
  8. fighting to sustain their sovereignty against:
  9.  
  10. The RHT, or Royal House of Trebeaux, which is the family currently
  11. ruling the Méchant Empire, which is comprised of the following
  12. provinces:     Orléans, D'amie, Savoir, Breston, Sanclaire, and
  13. Diligo.  As one country these provinces are known as Méchainne.
  14. The capital city is located in Sanclaire Province, and is called JeVeux.
  15.  
  16. Others nations involved:
  17.  
  18. Leyland:       A strong, highly populated island nation northeast
  19.                of the mainland where Méchainne is located.
  20.                Principal military strength lies in their Navy.
  21.  
  22. Salem:         Gen. Kentucky's home, one of the core nations
  23.                making up the ULA.  A peninsula located NNW off-
  24.                shore from Méchainne, with the neutral country of
  25.                Givourney between them along with the Doflilee Sea.
  26.  
  27. Massigney:     A small Princedom, located south of Mechainne, near
  28.                the deserts of Deodd.
  29.  
  30. Deodd:         A geographically large, but weak nation, comprised
  31.                mostly of desert, located southeast of Massigney.
  32.                This nation contains valuable oil deposits.
  33.  
  34. Jeuhuenne:     Located southwest of Massigney and west of Deodd, a
  35.                southern nation, small, but ferocious.  Put up the
  36.                strongest fight during the Massigney Cross[ing]
  37.                which led to the fall of all three nations to
  38.                Mechainne (You will play this battle out).  This
  39.                nation has a few major oil deposits.
  40.  
  41. Givourney:     Neutral, located between Salem and Mechainne
  42.                [reference the Collapse of Perechine battle].
  43.  
  44. Avons:         The first nation overrun by Mechainne in one day,
  45.                during the Midsummer Night's Eve campaign.  Most of
  46.                her troops were caught completely unprepared by the
  47.                surprise offensive, but many managed to escape to
  48.                Salem and other nations to fight another day for the ULA.
  49.  
  50. Aistersod:     A small country near the Free City of Dirle, having
  51.                been spared by the RHT (as they have heavy
  52.                munitions manufacturing and a decently prepared
  53.                army) they have had time to heavily arm even more
  54.                of their populace.  They supply arms to all buyers.
  55.  
  56. Dirle:         A Free Independent City.  With every citizen armed,
  57.                as they have been throughout history, they have
  58.                been spared the onslaught of the RHT, as the RHT
  59.                has not as yet been able to field a significant
  60.                size force anywhere near the area, needing too many
  61.                troops in Orleans and other areas combatting on the ULA front.
  62.  
  63. Partisans:     Many Mechainne's themselves (particularly in
  64.                Orleans) are fighting for the ULA and have actually
  65.                managed (in the war's beginning) to seize most of
  66.                that province from the RHT's armies.  Principally:
  67.                Kirisk, Mt. Bedford area, etc...
  68.

  71. The Provinces of Mechainne:
  72.  
  73. Orleans:       The northern coastal province, pretty large.
  74.                Contains some major towns.
  75.  
  76. D'amie:        North Eastern coastal province with inland areas.
  77.                Contains lots of forest, and is largely unsettled.
  78.  
  79. Savoir:        Borders Dirle and Aistersod, an inland province,
  80.                small, but key in that this area is the only non-
  81.                mountainous area stradling the Haight River, beyond
  82.                which lies JeVeux, the capitol city.
  83.  
  84. Breston:       Eastern coastal province, South of D'Amie, with
  85.                Bestonius city in it.  Smaller than others.
  86.                Bestonius, however, is a VERY large, important coastal city.
  87.                        
  88. Sanclaire:     Contains the capitol city, has coastline onthe
  89.                East, and is located more southerly in Machainne.
  90.  
  91. Diligo:        Southern province bordering Massigney and the other
  92.                southern nations.

  127.                            THE PEOPLE:
  128.  
  129. The ULA:
  130. General Kentucky:        From Salem, he has led the ULA forces
  131.                          since after the first conflict of the
  132.                          Midsummer Night's Eve. He is the supreme
  133.                          allied commander, responsible for the
  134.                          left flank in the final invasion.
  135.  
  136. General Hogan:           Led small reinforcements into Jeuhuenne
  137.                          early in war, oversaw the defenses at
  138.                          Kirisk and the landing on Dublin Beach,
  139.                          later led the southern push into Diligo
  140.                          (not followed in the campaign).
  141.  
  142. General Mace:            Defended Perechine. Killed in action.
  143.  
  144. General Oak:             Leylanese. Began as a Colonel. Ended up
  145.                          heading His Majesty's Forces during the
  146.                          RHT Layland invasion and repulsing the
  147.                          RHT back into the sea. Led right flank
  148.                          in the major offensive following
  149.                          Operation Kiwi.
  150.  
  151. General Holland:         Headed up troops defending Deodd,
  152.                          Jeuhuenne and Massigney early in war and
  153.                          fial defense of Mt. Bedford. Tried and
  154.                          convicted of warcrimes by the RHT: hung.
  155.  
  156. General Shafer:          Began as 2nd Lt. in intelligence, ended
  157.                          up commanding major forces into JeVeux at
  158.                          war's end.
  159.  
  160. General Oligär:          Jeuhuennese General, escaped with troops
  161.                          early in war, led government in exile and
  162.                          smaller size ULA force in center of the
  163.                          main front after Operation Kiwi.

  165.  
  166. The RHT:
  167. Duke of Sanclaire:       Masterplanned invasion to the south to
  168.                          sieze oil producing nations, and then
  169.                          Kirisk offensive.
  170.  
  171. Lord of Bestonius:       Seconded the Duke in both attacks,
  172.                          planned the airborne invasion of Leyland,
  173.                          and led that.
  174.  
  175. Earl of Assisi:          Was responsible for putting together the
  176.                          base in D'amie province for attacks upon
  177.                          Leyland but foiled by Capt. Shafer.
  178.                          Killed in action.
  179.  
  180. Col. Houché:             Led small force in Bedford I, and was
  181.                          surrounded and captured by ULA forces
  182.                          just after Bedford II.
